The story is situated in the village called Ramakrishnapura and the main character , Devadasa, has many good qualities which endear his teachers and schoolmates to him. He attracts the hearts of all because of the good education he has received from his father.

The story unfolds and Devadasa becomes a very famous and educated person . Yet, he is a great devotee of the Lord as well.

The books is written in a very easy english, a nice story format. Dedicated “with faith and devotion, to the dear residents of Bengal”.
