Bhagavad-Gita At A Glance is a new literary effort by Narayani Devi Dasi, who is a dear disciple of Srila Prabhupada. She had previously written and published the Srimad Bhagavatam At A Glance, complete with illustrations, and had now completed her bhaktivedanta series by presenting the “Bhagavad-gita At A Glance”.
Srimati Narayani Dasi is well known in ISKCON society as one of the eminent teachers of the Vrindavan Institute of Higher Education(VIHE) and the Mayapur Institute of Higher Education and Training (MIHET). She is one of the driving force behind the Bhaktivedanta education series.
In this new book, “Bhagavad Gita at Glance”, Srimati Narayani Dasi had made all the verses of Bhagavad-gita in very simple poetic renditions, capturing the mood of the Bhaktivedanta purports. Thus the title of the book, “Bhagavad Gita At A Glance”, adequately fits that. Reading through the poetic renditions will enables one to quickly capture the true meaning of the Bhagavad-Gita. The special feature of the book is the artist illustrations of all the chapters and verses by Satadhama Devi Dasi, the same artist who illustrated the earlier book, Srimad Bhagavatam at Glance. Srimati Narayani Dasi had this to say about the arts: “Within our present ISKCON society many of our artists who were present at the time when our beloved spiritual master Srila Prabhupada was on this earth are aware of a cherished desire which he expressed to them. Srila Prabhupada wanted that his artists paint a picture to illustrate each verse of the Bhagavad-gita. In this book we have endeavored to fulfill this desire of Srila Prabhupada.” The reader will be highly impressed with the colorful illustrations of each chapter, along with fine drawings of each verse.
The book also comes with a giant pull-out poster, showing Lord Krishna in the middle and each chapters of the Bhagavad-Gita. The poster will be a great addition for a study-room wall paintings. There is a also an interactive CD-ROM inserted in the book. The Bhagavad Gita At a Glance is printed on wood-free artpaper, 242 Pages, A4 landscape size.
