It has seven parts:- Maheshwar, Vaishnava, Brahma, Kashi, Avanti, Nagar and Prabhasa. Purana got its name from Skand (Kartikeya) the son of Lord Shiva. Birth of Skanda. Kartikeya was the commander of the godsメ army and had killed the demon Tarkasura.
